These are regular sized plays (as opposed to my very small play last week, which resulted in a loss).

UNDER 96 million, -105 at WWTS for the 3 day
UNDER 135 million, -120 at WSEX for the 4 day

Official estimates are at 135.7. I think their Sunday estimate might be a little high, though, and you might very well take this one, JC. Doesn't look good for me.

At least my X2 +15 over Reloaded is going to cash.

Question. How is it that the studios "estimate" their weekend totals before Sunday's takes have even been taken into account? Anyone have any clue?

Yes. If you know Friday and Saturday, you have a pretty good idea what Sunday is going to do. They're not 100% on... but can get pretty close to what the total will be for the weekend.

I'm not sure what variables go into making a Sunday estimate... Every movie is different... They are often spot-on but other times movies have a larger than projected Sunday drop, or seemingly less frequently, the other way around. I'm thinking this is where the R rating comes into play, with a smaller than usual sunday afternoon gross. Or maybe there's still a huge demand out there from the 17-25 age group that still hasn't seen it, it's hard to say.
